An Adorable Kookaburra Coin With A Special Privy Mark

Magnificently struck in a full ounce of highly pure 99.99% silver, this Brilliant Uncirculated (BU) legal-tender $1 coin depicts an adorable pair of kookaburra birds perched on the branches of a tree as Waratah flowers, the national flower of Australia, bloom with life. The bird on the left appears to be looking over its shoulder with a knowing smirk while the bird on the right has its head turned around to see what the other bird is up to. Engraved around the coin’s rim are the words KOOKABURRA and the coin’s year date, weight, and silver purity. Just to left of the little bird is an exclusive colorized privy mark that shows a tiny kookaburra. The kookaburra has been the bird emblem of New South Wales since 1971. The coin’s obverse features artist Jody Clark’s famous effigy of Queen Elizabeth II.
