Description
Benjamin Franklin is one of history’s most famous polymaths. In addition to being one of the founding Fathers of the United States, Franklin was an inventor, author, scientist, and diplomat. Additionally, Franklin served as face of the $100 American note, Franklin’s face also adorned silver half-dollars between the years of 1948 until 1965. These 90% pure silver coins maintain both a historical significance and appeal for their precious metal content!
On the obverse side is Franklin’s right-facing bust. The reverse field remains unmarred, except for the quintessentially American terms, “Liberty” and “In God We Trust.”
Depicted on the reverse side, is a liberty bell with the country of origin serving as the legend. “E Pluribus Unum” or “Of Many, One” features to the left of the bell while a powerful splayed eagle is on the right.
Half Dollars are an excellent addition to a portfolio or a collection as they provide a cost-effective means of obtaining a high amount of precious metal content. Additionally, Franklin half dollars maintain a high degree of historical significance.
