Silver shot, sometimes referred to as silver grain, is silver in a pure and unrefined form. Most silver shot takes the shape of small BBs and is no more than a few millimeters in diameter. Silver shot is typically produced by throwing molten silver into cold water. The result of the molten silver hitting cold water breaks up the larger mass of molten silver and helps it solidify into smaller balls or grains.
